It has come to the attention of the club that some unscrupulous dog breeders are advertising pups for sale and indicating that they are members of this club or another Akita Club in Ireland. To clarify the situation anyone seeking to purchase a pup having been told that the seller is a member of this club should confirm this information with the club membership secretary before committing to the purchase.

Please be aware that there is only one club in Ireland for the American Akita and Akita Inu.

We have managed to obtain some more copies of the latest akita book by Gabriela Richard. A must read for all Akita owners. First come first served. Price €20 including posting and packaging.  See club shop page for contact details.

The Swords and District canine club champ show held at Cloghran on18 June 2011 was the first public occasion for the new Akita Association of Ireland Club,in that the club donated trophies for the green star dog and green star bitch for both American Akita and Akita Inu.
